| I'm British-born and British trained, now living in
St Lucia, West Indies. Before I moved here I had my own counselling
practice in the UK, working both face to face and online. I keep in
close contact with the British and International counselling communities
and regularly take part in professional online workshops.
I hold the Diploma in Online Counselling (supervision) from Counselling
Online Ltd and validated by the Counselling
and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body.
I am currently (2006/7) Deputy Chairman of ACTO, the Association
for Counselling and Therapy Online
My original counselling training was dual-theory encompassing both
psychodynamic and person-centred ways of working.
After further training in other models I would now describe myself
as integrative, using various theoretical stances as appropriate
for individual clients and problems. I firmly believe that, whatever
approach is used, the relationship between counsellor and client
is the most important factor in determining the success of the therapeutic
work.
I have particular interest and experience in working with people
suffering from low self-esteem, with women who were sexually abused
in childhood, and with problems within relationships. |
